Out of Sight

I suddenly and unexpectedly lost my vision due to a stroke in 2000. This presented a new and difficult journey for me but, with much help, I now feel I am back in control of my life. In many ways it is a new life, a different life. What I lost in sight, I am gaining in insight.

I hope the following pages will be helpful to anyone going through a similar loss or struggle. I also hope they will help my friends and family better understand.

These pages are not about loss, sadness, and despair, although those indeed are part of the story. They are about determination and rehabilitation, and a new independent life. They are the result of devoted and loving friends, family members, and teachers. They are about success.
