Norine's Notes |
Our PetsThree critters live with us but this page will be about Molly and KC. Moses, my Leader Dog, has a separate page where he shares his experiences as a guide dog
KC has been around for 17 years. Dale brought him home as a kitten and has watched and nurtured him through the many stages of his life. He came as just a little black ball of fur with a meow, and now he has a big black cat body surrounding a sweet little kitten at heart. He is definitely alpha in the animal hierarchy and frequently assures the others know his status. He has been known to hide around a corner and bop a dog wandering by, for no good reason. At feeding time he has to be first.
Dale held him as much as possible when KC was a kitten and our old cat still craves human contact. He is happiest snuggled up against Dale or me, but in a pinch Moses will do.
We brought Molly, our Shetland Sheep Dog, into our home when she was eight weeks old.
She is now eight years old. Since we don’t have any sheep for her to herd she sometimes tries to herd Dale and me into doing what she wants, such as going outside for a game of Frisbee.
Molly talks a lot so her presence never goes unnoticed. She also listens attentively when Dale and I are talking. She has an excellent comprehension of language and a large vocabulary that she understands and responds to.
This little dog has taken on the big role of guard dog, and no-one comes near the house without Molly alerting us.
Molly has always been a daddy’s girl and loves to give poochie smoochies.
Our pets do indeed leave paw prints on our hearts. Click here for the pet album of some of our favorite memories.
